Dogs have a way of becoming family. They bring a kind of good into your life that's hard to explain until you've had one. Max is a field golden retriever, our founder's dog, and the same one behind the mark on our Field Good Retriever Rope Hat. He's got the classic field golden traits: a nose that never stops working, and a temperament that gets along with just about everybody. Jeff at Planet People Studio drew him up, and this time he's woven into a patch, right next to the letters "TRD MRK." Feels about right, at this point. It's a hat built for hiking with your own pup, a dip in the lake, or tossing a ball across a wide-open field where they can really run.
Cotton twill crown in tan, chocolate brown brim, matching eyelets and button on top. The patch sits front and center: cream background, brown border, Max proudly standing above a bold CLAYBORN wordmark. A structured mid-profile crown holds its shape, and the recycled poly snapback closure means it fits most heads without a second thought.
Good out on the trail. Good back home too. That's kind of the idea behind the name.
